IRA/Money Fund Administrator

Summary:

The position will assist the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Department and Money Fund Department’s day-to-day activities. This position will work closely with Financial Advisors (FAs) and Client Associates in all accounting, bookkeeping, and other day-to-day activities of the IRA/Cash Management Department.  Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Individual filling this position should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Strong bookkeeping/accounting skills; AA degree in accounting preferred
  • Office skills and experience in working with office machines (e.g., fax, copier, and 10 key)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
  • Excellent customer service through written and verbal communication
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and resolve conflicts
  • Organizational ability and self-motivation
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and prioritizing
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Duties:

  • Learn all IRA rules and regulations and required paperwork
  • On a daily basis, balance/reconcile money funds and Bank Insured Deposit Program
  • Work with FAs to clear money fund checks, Visa, bill pay, and ACH transactions that are potentially non-sufficient funds items
  • Set up new money fund checks and Visa cards
  • Serve as liaison between UMB and clients/FAs on Visa credit/debit card problems
  • Complete check orders and reorders
  • Post checks to client accounts and submit electronic deposits to bank
  • Make journal entries and adjustments to client and firm accounts
  • Verify general ledger accounts for booking accuracy
