Casting support: D.A. Davidson volunteer jumps in with Reel Recovery

March 1, 2016

Sam Doyle, left, spends much of his free time as a volunteer fishing instructor.

By day, you’ll most likely find Sam Doyle, President of Fixed Income Capital Markets at D.A. Davidson & Co., hard at work in his Denver office. By evenings and weekends, you’re just as likely to find him on the river with a fly rod in his hand and a novice fly-fisherman by his side. Sam is a volunteer instructor and guide for Reel Recovery, a non-profit fly-fishing instruction and support group for men with cancer.  “I joined Reel Recovery to help men with cancer,” said Sam. “Being part of something that gives them the support and emotional resources to continue their fight is an honor. And spending time with these remarkable men has helped me realize how fortunate I am to have my own good health as well as the good health of my family.”

D.A. Davidson is a sustaining, long term sponsor for Reel Recovery, support that doesn’t go unnoticed. "Sam and D.A. Davidson have been wonderful long-term partners with Reel Recovery, both financially and through volunteering,” said Stan Golub, Executive Director of Reel Recovery. ”Sam’s skillful instruction and generous, caring heart have helped scores of Colorado men not only learn the art of fly-fishing, but most importantly, learn that there are great people and companies in the world who truly care.”
