Firm Broadens FIG Practice with Expansion Into the East Coast

D.A. Davidson & Co., a full-service national investment banking firm, announced today that it has hired a team of veteran investment bankers to expand its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) practice into the East Coast. The team will be responsible for leading and expanding the firm’s FIG footprint in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions and advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions and other strategic advisory assignments.

“Individually and as a team, Ed Losty and Jay Junior are highly respected with deep relationships and a wealth of experience in the FIG industry, making them exceptional additions to our group,” said Rory McKinney, co-head of investment banking at D.A. Davidson. “This is an important step in growing our FIG franchise into a leading national practice. D.A. Davidson’s approach to the business, which involves providing full service capabilities, the highest quality services and forthright advice, is shared by Ed and Jay and will benefit not only our practice but also the firm’s clients.”

Edward Losty and Jay Junior, who will be joining as Managing Directors, bring nearly 60 years of combined investment banking experience with financial institutions. Peter Losty will be joining the firm as an Associate. The team previously worked at Mufson Howe Hunter & Company in Philadelphia. Before that, Ed and Jay spent approximately 17 years at Janney Montgomery Scott, leading the FIG investment banking practice. Combined, they have closed nearly 100 transactions, including M&A, branch divestitures, capital raising and advisory assignments, aggregating over $4 billion in transaction value. Ed earned a bachelor’s degree and graduated cum laude from Villanova University and Jay holds a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College.

“The addition of Ed, Jay and Peter is another step in building out Davidson’s FIG franchise, which is currently one of the top 3 advisors nationwide, and also continues our disciplined plan of investment banking growth in targeted industries,” said Monte Giese, Co-Head of Investment Banking.

The team joins D.A. Davidson on the day that the firm opens its 18th Annual Financial Institutions Conference in Denver. The first day is comprised of an investment banking summit, followed by company presentations and meeting opportunities on subsequent days.
