Have you heard? Congress recently passed a bill that would name the North American bison the first national mammal of the United States.
Now the measure is awaiting President Obama's signature to become law.
The bill pronounces the bison as a "historical symbol of the United States" and says that it is "integrally linked with the economic and spiritual lives of many Indian tribes through trade and sacred ceremonies."
We could not agree more. Not only does the bison adorn two state flags, but it also is the symbol for D.A. Davidson Companies. We love our mark and are proud that the bison is poised to become a symbol representing the best of the United States!
