Could the Fed decide to increase interest rates as soon as this December? Amid much ongoing speculation about the timing of an interest rate increase, the Labor Department announced this week that consumer prices rose more than expected, which in turn pushed up the odds that the Federal Reserve could still decide to boost rates this year.
“It certainly is another thing that could help them increase their trend towards normalization,” said Mary Ann Hurley, vice president in fixed income trading at D.A. Davidson in Seattle.
