D.A. Davidson & Co. announced today that Laci Knowles has joined the firm’s Fixed Income Capital Markets group as Associate Vice President, Public Finance Banker.
Knowles will serve as a member of D.A. Davidson’s Special District Group, a Denver-based team of public finance bankers specializing in public finance work for Colorado’s special districts. D.A. Davidson’s Special District Group successfully completed 81 district financings in 2016, totaling over $1.3 billion in par amount, according to Thomson Reuters and Colorado Division of Securities rankings.

“With her experience serving special district clients as a bond attorney and her ingenuity and energy, she is a perfect fit to serve our growing client base of special district and tax-increment clients,” Sharp said.
Knowles joins with strong experience as a public finance attorney. She most recently practiced with Butler Snow LLP, where she specialized in municipal and special district bond transactions and securities law in the firm’s Denver office. She previously was with Sherman & Howard L.L.C., also in Denver. She is a graduate of the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. Additionally, she holds a master’s in international studies from the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas.
In Colorado, special districts are quasi-municipal corporations and political subdivisions of the state created to provide necessary public services. As tax-exempt financing mechanisms, special districts are generally formed for installation, operation and maintenance of public infrastructure, and often provide services such as fire and safety protection and water and sanitation.
