The busiest U.S. retail season of the year has traditionally kicked off with Black Friday, a shopping frenzy concentrated on the day after Thanksgiving. But the pandemic, growth in online shopping and changes in retail supply chains are stretching the shopping extravaganza into something new this year. Michael Baker, the Institutional Research Analyst with D.A. Davidson who covers major retailers, said Black Friday remains important for the sector but will probably continue to morph into a longer seasonal stretch of shopping.
