Jennifer Emfield of Pocatello, Idaho, and Janet Smith of Great Falls, Mont., have been named recipients of the Ian B. Davidson Cultural Excellence Award, one of the most prestigious awards given to employees of D.A. Davidson Companies.
The cultural excellence award recognizes D.A. Davidson employees who are committed to exemplifying the firm’s core values, which include service excellence, business ethics and integrity, and community involvement. The honor is named for Ian Davidson, Chairman Emeritus of D.A. Davidson Companies, who developed and nurtured the firm’s core values as a company leader for a number of years.
Emfield is Supervisory Branch Operations Manager, Registered Client Associate in Pocatello. Her peers cite Emfield’s professionalism, tireless commitment to client service and a deep genuine care for her colleagues. She works with an attitude that the job is not done until the standards of D.A. Davidson are met, and her experience and attention to detail are the foundation that supports each person in the Pocatello, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls offices. Her nominators note that Emfield is, without a doubt, the center of influence with the financial advisors, associates and clients in these branches.
Smith is Vice President, Registration Coordinator in Great Falls. A longtime D.A. Davidson employee, she is recognized as a leader through her subject matter expertise, timely delivery of solutions and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done properly. For the majority of her tenure with the company, she has successfully operated as a one-person registration department even as the firm’s registered persons have more than tripled during her tenure and regulatory requirements have grown increasingly complex. Smith exemplifies the phrase “leadership is not defined by your position the org chart,” and navigates delicate situations with care. She additionally supports a variety of other non-registration activates.
Emfield and Smith received the peer-driven awards during the company’s recent virtual shareholders meeting.
