D.A. Davidson Honors Zach Swartz, Steve Jackson Jr., Heather Kubas with Company’s Top Awards

Feb 06, 2023 |

D.A. Davidson Companies has named 2022 recipients of the company’s highest honors, the Bragg Lewis Knutson Community Service Award and the Ian B. Davidson Cultural Excellence Award. These awards recognize associates for their commitment to community service, professionalism and adherence to the company’s core values.

Zach Swartz of Great Falls, Mont., received the Bragg Lewis Knutson Community Service Award, given in recognition of outstanding volunteer efforts.

Swartz, Vice President, Application Support Manager, has had an active and impactful role within his community, both helping to create opportunities as well as providing hands-on support to the causes he cares about. Swartz is president and a founding member of the Rotary Electric Club of Great Falls, believed to be one of the youngest (by member age) and most innovative clubs within Rotary International. The club has organized a number of events to help the community, including one that raised over $40,000 to help remodel the Youth Rec Room for Alliance for Youth. Swartz also has been a dedicated volunteer with the Monarch/Neihart Senior Center as their IT consultant and helping to serve meals. In addition, he regularly donates his time and skills to provide free IT services to area nonprofits, including Vets4Vets, HANDS Inc. and Rotary Electric, to name a few.

Steve Jackson Jr. of Pasadena, Calif., and Heather Kubas of Great Falls have been named recipients of the Ian B. Davidson Cultural Excellence Award. This award recognizes D.A. Davidson employees who are committed to exemplifying the firm’s core values, which include service excellence, business ethics and integrity, and community involvement. The honor is named for Ian Davidson, Chairman Emeritus of D.A. Davidson Companies, who developed and nurtured the firm’s core values as a company leader for a number of years.

Jackson, Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor and Branch Manager, is recognized for his leadership and contributions. His nominators note that Steve consistently demonstrates care for those around him, maintains very active involvement in the community, and both sets and models high standards of ethics and integrity. A thoughtful listener, Jackson’s proactive and solutions-centric leadership approach has had a positive impact within the branches he manages, across his peer group, and within local communities. Whether hosting a CEG gathering in one of the offices, serving on the local CFP board, actively supporting financial literacy efforts, or recruiting an advisor candidate one-on-one, Jackson’s professionalism and pride in the organization are abundantly evident to all.

Heather Kubas, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Davidson Investment Advisors, sets the bar for doing things the right way and has been integral to several key initiatives. Nominators note Kubas’ leadership style as a perfect balance between collaborative and productive. She consistently looks to help others on her team grow, and the example she sets motivates the rest of the team to operate more efficiently, help each other where they can, and bring a spirit of kindness and friendship to work relationships. Kubas is active in the Great Falls community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Lewis and Clark Foundation and contributing to a number of other causes.

Swartz, Jackson and Kubas received the peer-driven awards during the company’s recent shareholders meeting in Great Falls.
