D.A. Davidson Honors Jeff Nesset, Laura Young with Cultural Excellence Award

Jeff Nesset of Lewiston, Idaho and Laura Young of Great Falls, Montana have been named the recipients of the Ian B. Davidson Cultural Excellence Award, one of the most prestigious awards given to employees of D.A. Davidson Companies.

The Ian B. Davidson Cultural Excellence Award recognizes D.A. Davidson employees who are committed to exemplifying the firm’s core values, which include service excellence, business ethics, integrity and community involvement. The award is named for Ian Davidson, Chairman Emeritus of D.A. Davidson Companies, who developed and nurtured the company’s core values as a company leader for a number of years.

Nesset is a Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor and Branch Manager in Lewiston. In earning the award, he was cited for his strong ethics, integrity, leadership and community involvement. A former mayor of Lewiston for 10 years, Nesset also served for two years in the Idaho Legislature. Idaho’s governor recently appointed him to serve as a Commissioner for the Idaho Housing and Finance Association, and he has a lengthy history of volunteering with a number of organizations. Nesset also is a past recipient of the Bragg Lewis Knutson Community Service Award, which recognized an outstanding commitment to volunteer work and is the highest honor given each year to a D.A. Davidson employee. Nesset has been with D.A. Davidson since 1981.

Young is a Client Associate in Great Falls. Her nominator recognized Young for her professionalism, positive attitude and dedication in the office, and additionally cited her exceptional community volunteer efforts. She has been a particularly dependable leader in helping the Great Falls branch navigate various difficulties and is known for her problem-solving skills. She often volunteers to work on holidays and fill in for others. Additionally, Young is personally committed to year-round work in the community, especially through helping elderly or ill friends, neighbors, family members and members of her church. Her work is focused on hands-on tasks that make a difference in the lives of others, such as cooking, cleaning and caring for pets. Young has been with D.A. Davidson since 1996.

The awards were presented to recently during the company’s recent annual shareholders’ meeting.
