Fred Johnson Joins D.A. Davidson Investment Banking to Expand Capital Markets Origination

D.A. Davidson & Co. announced today that Fred Johnson has joined the firm’s investment banking team as managing director. Johnson is based in Chicago and will spearhead capital markets origination and execution efforts for the group’s consumer, diversified industrials and technology verticals.

D.A. Davidson continues to focus on expanding its investment banking practice, with Johnson as the 10th senior banker hire since 2019. In the last 12 months, the investment banking team has advised on over 40 public offerings, for more than $15 billion in value.

Johnson brings nearly 25 years of investment banking and capital markets experience to D.A. Davidson, most recently serving as managing director with Barrington Research, where he focused on capital markets transactions. Previously, he was managing director and head of confidential offerings at William Blair, in addition to positions at Wachovia, A.G. Edwards, and Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance. Johnson received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and earned his MBA in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was a Stern Scholar.
