Rory McKinney is the President of Equity Capital Markets at D.A. Davidson & Co., where he leads over 200 professionals across offices throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, Rory serves on the Board of Directors at D.A. Davidson Companies.

Rory joined D.A. Davidson in 2007 and prior to his current role was Head of Investment Banking. Since 2014, he has served in a leadership capacity as a driving force behind D.A. Davidson, becoming a leader in middle-market M&A and equity capital markets across key industry verticals, including the consumer, diversified industrials, financial institutions, and technology sectors. He served as Co-Head of Investment Banking from 2014-2016 and opened the firm’s Los Angeles investment banking office in 2010.

Under his leadership, D.A. Davidson’s Equity Capital Markets Group has achieved record-setting growth via expansion to various geographies, new industry verticals and product areas, and through strategic partnerships that are aligned with the firm’s goals to deliver world-class services to middle-market clients. Over the past five years, D.A. Davidson’s Equity Capital Markets team has completed over 600 transactions with an aggregate deal value of more than $70 billion. In addition, Rory helped form the strategic partnership between D.A. Davidson & Co. and MCF Corporate Finance, together under the D.A. Davidson MCF International brand the team offers cross-border M&A advisory.

Prior to his current role, he served as Co-Head of Investment Banking from 2014-2016 and opened the firm’s Southern California investment banking office in 2010.

Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, Rory managed the West Coast office of Hovde Financial, an investment banking firm exclusively focused on financial institutions. Rory holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from DePaul University, where he was also a three-time varsity letter winner and two-time team captain in tennis.
