Michael Smith is a Managing Director for the Investment Banking group. He joined D.A. Davidson in September 2005 from Capital Run LLC, where he was Partner and one of the firm’s founding members. Prior to Capital Run, he was Vice President at Volpe Brown Whelan & Company (Prudential Volpe Technology Group), where he helped establish its private equity placement group and was a member of the B2B Internet team focused on IPOs and secondaries.
Previously, he was a Vice President with Dain Rauscher Wessels in Seattle, where he was initially focused on providing investment banking services to retail/consumer companies and then transitioned to the private equity team. Prior to joining DRW, Michael was an associate at Pacific Crest Securities and an analyst at CSFB. He holds bachelor’s degrees in history and business administration from Brigham Young University.
